The Nebbiolo grape is responsible for the great Italian Wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, and Roero. Indigenous to the Piemonte Region, its propagation has been attempted throughout the world yet despite it thriving in many regions, elsewhere it has never resulted in wines approximating those of its place of birth. Why? Several reasons are proffered … the unique weather of the Lange Hills, the soil that is born of the Alps, and … the Magic!!! The magic of the hearts, minds and souls … the spirit … of the people of Piemonte whose essence is found in every drop!

And so it is with Voglia di Vino, a quaint osteria along a narrow Via adjacent to Centro Alba, ... upon entering a magical presence engulfs you. This magic is no doubt due in part to the fantastic selection of wines by the glass, the excellent food, and the charming atmosphere, but it is the hospitality of the proprietors, Daniela and Luca Tirelli, ... well, mostly Daniela...that sets Voglia di Vino apart and causes it to be my favorite venue in Alba.

Each glass of wine is
accompanied by a
complimentary appetizer.

The flavor of the foie gras is sublime.

The fresh pasta and truffles is …
well…this is the truffle Capitol of
the universe!

And when the hamburger is nearly as expensive as the foie gras you’d expect it to be good … but it isn’t good … it’s phenomenal!!!

Voglia di Vino … Simply magical!!
